Earlier this year we decided to test Renovate to manage automated dependency updates in our self-hosted GitLab environment. Being able to run Renovate in our own environment and configure it to our needs made a lot of sense. For a long time, we've been successfully using Apache and mod_authnz_ldap to secure some of our legacy applications. Our employees could easily log in via their LDAP credentials. And while it worked, it had its problems.
