Yesterday, I attended the HashiDays 2023 Munich event to gain some insights into the latest Hashicorp product development. After speaking at the virtual HashiDays event in 2020, this was my first in-person event organized by the Hashicorp folks, and I was curious about what to expect.

The event location and organization were pretty much perfect. The event took place on the 31st floor of the Highlight Towers in Design Offices Munich Highlight Towers located in Schwabing and offered a fantastic view. It was great to see the attention to detail the Hashicorp folks put into place, e.g. offering a German translation for the English talks. I did not try it myself, but I heard it worked fine.

I was visiting the Cloud Engineering Track and heard talks about Terraform, Consul, and (my favorite besides Nomad) Boundary. Hearing the real-world use cases of Adidas and AVL List offered some great insights into how other companies use Hashicorp products. The only thing I missed was a talk about Nomad, but I heard there will be some announcements at Hashiconf in October. I cannot wait to find out more. However, my main highlight was meeting Kerim Satirli for the first time in person. My second highlight was that Boundary now supports Session recording, making it even more useful. I am looking forward to rolling out Boundary for my fellow co-workers.

All in all, it was a great event, and I can absolutely recommend visiting it if you are using one or more of the Hashicorp products.
