Renovate

Renovate is part of our development workflow. Renovate helps us to monitor library or framework updates.

Renovate will open a Merge Request in GitLab for each new release, triggering a CI pipeline run. This allows us to quickly see if updates can be applied smoothly or if additional work has to be applied to make the upgrade happen.

Thanks to the various configuration options that Renovate offers, we can fine-tune the whole process according to the standards our customers request.

Renovate is a multi-platform and multi-language solution for automated dependency updates which complements our Sonarqube & GitLab toolchain.

Manually maintaining dependency upgrades (e.g. Composer, Yarn, ...) can be quite time-consuming. Having an automated solution which can easily be deployed in our Nomad infrastructure and connect to our toolings is a big plus and helps our long-term projects to be up-to-date and secure.
