IONOS Cloud
This item was not updated in last three versions of the Radar. Should it have appeared in one of the more recent editions, there is a good chance it remains pertinent. However, if the item dates back further, its relevance may have diminished and our current evaluation could vary. Regrettably, our capacity to consistently revisit items from past Radar editions is limited.
Adopt
IONOS Cloud (formerly ProfitBricks GmbH) is an IaaS provider from Germany. More than 10 years ago when we were looking for a new hosting partner we identified IONOS Cloud as an interesting match mainly for 2 reasons:
- the company is located in Germany and takes data privacy very seriously
- back then it was the only Cloud hosting provider that offered real-time
We gave the offering a test, and quickly became a value-added partner, and ever since IONOS Cloud is our primary choice for hosting our own infrastructure as well as our customers' infrastructure.
Over time IONOS Cloud moved a bit away from the IaaS point-of-view and these days they are also offering managed services (e.g. Managed Kubernetes, Managed databases) which are a plus for us and our use cases.
