OpenCode is an innovative open-source agent designed to facilitate coding within various environments, including terminals, integrated development environments (IDEs), and desktop applications.
As part of our ongoing evaluation, we have been testing OpenCode as a potential alternative to JetBrains AI, and the preliminary results have been promising. One of the key advantages of OpenCode is its versatility, allowing seamless integration with cloud-based AI services such as Claude and Gemini, as well as the option to deploy it with a self-hosted Ollama stack, providing users with greater flexibility and control.
